IUPUI Employee Earns Dan Kriedler Newcomer Award for 2011–2012

Thursday, July 12, 2012

Indianapolis, IN (July 2012) — Jennifer Weinmann, IUPUI University College employee, earned the Dan Kriedler Newcomer Award for 2011-2012 presented by the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA) in June 2012.

This award is presented to a newcomer in the student employment field who has made a unique contribution to MASEA within two years of his or her membership. Having joined the steering committee for MASEA this year, Weinmann, in her second year of membership, provided significant support to the MASEA Board and conference committee for this year’s regional conference held in Indianapolis. She was instrumental in the selection of the Indianapolis-based nonprofit, Timmy Global Health, as MASEA’s philanthropic recipient of funds from the conference’s annual silent auction and assisted in coordinating the local attractions and dining information for conference participants.

This year, for the first time, Jennifer will be holding the position of editor for NSEA’s national journal, the Journal of Student Employment. This appointment was also recognized at the MASEA conference this year.

“It is easy to get involved with this initiative. I simply sent an email that then funneled into a role in the steering committee. It was the fact that I took the initiative that then led to my nomination,” Weinmann concluded.

The Midwest Association for Student Employment Administrators represents several regions that are part of the National Student Employment Association (NSEA). Its annual conference is connected to the student employment appreciation week held every April through NSEA.
